Battle at the Outpost

Battle at the Outpost

In the waning afternoon of Tuesday the 27th, a sudden attack was waged on a remote outpost occupied by the Tan Army. Nearly 40 troops were stationed in this military base right on the border of the Green Territory. Tensions between the two global powers had been brewing for some time before the encounter, but no one would ever think the Green Nation would make such a bold move as this.

Emerging from the nearby woods, the battalion of Green Troops rushed the outpost with intense artillery fire and overwhelming gunfire. For a time, the Tan Army managed to hold off the enemy but, due to a fuel shortage were unable to mobilize their tanks. This led to their front lines quickly falling apart, especially when the Green Army was reinforced by a combat medic, keeping their men in fighting condition.

The battle took a turn for the worse for the Tan Army when First Lieutenant Victor, known for his triumphant victory at the Battle of Woodpine, suddenly dropped dead during the skirmish. This left the remaining troops confused and scattered as the Green Troops slowly picked them off one by one with calculated sniper fire. The cause of death for the Lieutenant is currently unknown.

With the chain of command dismantled and their lines falling apart, the Tan Army's remaining forces desperately attempted to call in reinforcements. The Green army now making a break for the main command center.  Suddenly, from out of the woods emerged a Tan special forces team silently taking out the Green's artillery and making a push to snuff out the rest of the attacking force.

Unfortunately for the Tan army, the prospect of turning the tide of the battle was short-lived as their reinforcements had arrived too late. By the time the special forces had managed to begin their attack on the Green Army's infantry, the last survivors of the original Tan Soldiers had fallen. Special Forces made a desperate attempt to take out as many Green Troops as possible, but the battle had already been lost. The Special Forces Units fled quickly after the Green's secured the Command Center.

Casualties are unknown at this time but estimations by Tan high command estimate that they suffered nearly 40 loses while the Greens only suffered 20. This sets an uneasy precedent for the coming days as many fear war is around the corner and that this is the beginning of a long defensive struggle for the Tan country.
